This unique interactive CD-ROM testifies to the great wealth and diversity of edible fruits and nuts in South-East Asia, and is produced by ETI and PROSEA. The multimedia databases on this CD-ROM hold detailed information on some 120 (economically) important foodcrops, brief characteristics of another 270 species of lesser importance, and referrals to other PROSEA titles are given for nearly 400 species which are not primarily used for their fruit-, nut- or seed-production. Many of the species are illustrated by drawings and/or photo's. The hyper-linked program offers a matrix based identification system which holds information on secundary uses and geographical distribution. Also included are a list of South-East Asian references, a list of references used for the descriptions included, and a glossary that explains the terms used. This CD-ROM rightfully belongs in any scientific library and in reference collections of both botanists and crop experts as well as anyone dealing with food crops.
