De CD-ROM serie van het Interactief Identificatie Systeem van de Europese Limnofauna (IISEL) is een gezamenlijk project van ETI en Nederlandse organisaties voor het onderzoek naar de waterkwaliteit (Kiwa, RIZA, STOWA). IISEL biedt de gebruiker een up-to-date overzicht van en een referentiewerk voor de identificatie van de West Europese Limnofauna. Door het gebruik van electronische systemen is het verspreiden en regelmatig aanpassen van de informatie efficiënt en eco-nomisch, terwijl tegelijkertijd de toegankelijkheid van de gegevens optimaal is door de toepassing van interactieve determinatiesleutels en multimedia soortsdatabases. Deze CD-ROM bevat een informatie- en determinatiesysteem voor de Nederlandse libellenlarven, met nieuwe sleutels en recente versprei-dingskaarten. Alle teksten hebben “hyperlinks” naar een geïllustreerd on line woordenboek met specifieke termen. Tevens zijn vele literatuurreferenties opgenomen.
This CD-ROM forms part of a series of the "Interactive Identification System of the European Limnofauna" (IISEL), a project of ETI and the Netherlands organisations for water quality management (Kiwa, RIZA, STOWA). IISEL offers the user an up-to-date taxonomic overview and standard reference work for the identification of the limnofauna in Western Europe. The CD-ROM (the only one of this series in the in the Dutch language) holds a multimedia database on all dragonfly larvae that occur in the Netherlands, including a new and easy to use interactive identification system based upon the multiple choice principle. Recent distribution maps form part of the system. An on-line "hotlinked" illustrated glossary explains the specific scientific terms, and the reference database holds all relevant literature references.
