The Web Publisher supports the full functionality of the Linnaeus II runtime software in a Web environment. Resulting Web sites can be customized with features such as knowledge tests (quizzes) and a photo gallery (thumbnail index).

The Biodiversity Information System on the Web site of NLBIF was built using Linnaeus II Web Publisher. ETI's World Biodiversity Database (WBD) provides a central search index for online projects.

The Web Publisher tool meets the needs of a growing number of taxonomists to 'publish' their taxonomic information system directly on the Internet. The conversion from a Linnaeus II Builder project into a Web site is currently done in-house at ETI, but will be available to users shortly.
