I can't play movies and sounds in Birds of Europe 1.0. What is wrong?
There is more than one answer to this question:
- Birds of Europe 1.0x is not Windows 95 compatible. You should upgrade to Birds of Europe 2.0 if you are using Windows 95.
- On some Windows 3.1x systems, the birds won't sing, even though a sound card is installed in your machine. On these systems, the "Bird History" movie does not have sound and motion. If your troubles match those as described above, download the Birds of Europe 1.0 patch. Place it in the directory where the program "Birds of Europe" was installed. Birds of Europe is now patched and ready to be used.
If your problem is still not solved then the following solution might help you getting rid of the problem. Locate the following file on your hard disk: DHIO_DH.QTC. This file should be moved to another directory so that it has no longer a path to the Windows file system. If you have done this you should be able to play sounds and videos.
Birds of Europe 1.0 doesn't have menus in Windows 95. What's wrong?
Birds of Europe 1.0 is not fully Windows 95 compatible. If you are using Windows 95 or later, you should upgrade to Bird of Europe 2.x. Visit the CD-ROM catalogue for details.
