If you experience problems with a CD-ROM, please first check if its title is in the list below. Clicking a title will open a new page with detailed instructions on how to solve particular problems. If your problem is not listed, please refer to the section with general questions below. If your question still is not answered, please contact support.
General questions about Macintosh CD-ROMs
These are problems reported to ETI support that are not restricted to a single type of Mac title. Please note that questions about our Linnaeus II software are answered in a special Linnaeus II section.

NEW: Q: Which versions of Mac OS X are supported?
A: Titles produced from 2004 onwards work on Mac OS X 10.1 and higher, including Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6). Older titles work on Mac OS 8 and 9; if Classic is installed they can also be used on Mac OS X 10.1-10.4 on Macs with a PowerPC processor. These titles do not work on Intel Macs.

UPDATE: Q: Does my CD or DVD work on an Intel Mac?
A: This depends on when the title was produced. Older titles (pre 2004) only run in Mac OS and 9 (and under Classic in Mac OS X 10.1 to 10.4). These titles will not run on an Intel Mac. See the product catalogue for the system requirements of available titles.
It's not entirely impossible to run older Mac systems on Intel Macs. If you are technically inclined you can install a free emulator. However, ETI does not support this.
Q: Can I enlarge the windows in my program?
A: In most of our products you can only change the size of picture windows. Only windows of CD-ROMs produced in Linnaeus II 2.5 or later (from 2004 onwards) can be resized.
Q: Can I use my CD-ROM in a network?
A: Our CD and DVD-ROMs can only be used with a drive directly connected to your Mac. It is not possible to use a drive that is connected to your computer through a network.
Q: My program works, but I get no pictures.
A: The pictures are loaded from the CD or DVD-ROM. This is also the case if you choose to install the program files on your hard disk, to save storage space. Please check if the disk is still present in your drive. If this is the case and you still can't get pictures, please contact ETI support.
Q: Does my program only work when I have the CD or DVD-ROM in my computer?
A: On startup, most of the recent titles will check if the CD or DVD is present and warn you if it isn't. To save space on your hard disk, our products load pictures from the CD or DVD. Therefore most of our programs only work properly with the disk present in the drive. When used without the CD or DVD inserted, all programs will give errors when a picture is clicked and some titles may not run at all.
