Linnaeus II hints and tips - Publishing your project online

The latest version of the Linnaeus II Builder 2.6 provides support for the Linnaeus II Web Publisher. Examples of projects exported from Linnaeus to the Web can be found in the World Biodiversity Database. The Linnaeus II Web Publisher is currently used in-house at ETI, as we are still optimizing the workflow from Linnaeus II to an online combination of Apache/PHP/MySQL.

To publish your own Linnaeus II project online, it has to meet these requirements:

  • Only the standard Linnaeus II modules and fields should be used. Linnaeus II users may create their own fields in existing modules, and even create their own modules, but these will normally not be exported by the Web Publisher. If you create a Linnaeus II project with a Web version in mind, we strongly suggest that you to stick to the standard Linnaeus II feature set (or consult with the helpdesk first).
  • All data included in your project must meet the scientific standards for publication.

If you are interested in publishing your own monograph as part of the online World Biodiversity Database, please contact ETI.
